User Account Login Changes

AUTHOR: The PatTrac team

In preparation for the new Permission Policy being introduced in PatTrac/TranTrac 3.0, we ask that PatTrac Administrators start renaming their User Accounts to the user's email address. In most cases, this will be their Google Account. Upon renaming the account, the newly renamed account will display correctly in Employee Records and Security Roles. Users must start using these renamed accounts when logging in, and their password will remain the same.

When accomplishing this task, take the opportunity to;

  1. Remove (delete) any user's login accounts that are no longer used. Do not remove their Employee record, just the login account.

  2. Remove any Domain\Username accounts, as we have not used them in a few years.

  3. DO NOT remove any *.pattrac.info accounts. Our support team uses these accounts.

  4. You will need to do this for BOTH PatTrac and TranTrac.

We will hold a Webinar towards the end of September to provide more details on our plans to move from our current Security Roles model to a new Permission Policy model that will be used in the 3.0 products.

We intend to have user groups in an Agency be able to use 2.0 as well as the 3.0 beta. This Permission Policy change will allow that ability.

If you have any questions, please email PatTrac Support at support@pattrac.info.
